Ambassador Grbić opened the “Day of Serbia” at HUFS

In Seoul, as part of the “Day of Serbia” event at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), and at the initiative of the Embassy, the first-ever Serbian Language Speech Contest was held. Students from all years of the Department of Serbian Language at the Department of South Slavic Languages participated, and the program was also attended by students from Serbia who are currently studying at Korean universities.

The ceremonial program was opened by the Head of the Department, Professor Kim Sang-hon, followed by a welcoming speech from H.E. Nemanja Grbić, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Korea, who emphasized the importance of studying the Serbian language and culture as a key segment of bilateral cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

In the competition segment, the topics presented highlighted the cultural and linguistic ties between Serbia and Korea, and the students demonstrated a high level of knowledge and interest in Serbian culture and language. The winner of the contest will be nominated as a candidate for an exchange program and study stay in Serbia, which will enable further advancement in the Serbian academic and cultural environment.
