Participation of Ambassador N. Grbić in the Korea-Serbia Cooperation Forum on Digital Government

24. Feb 2022.
Organized by the Office for IT and eGovernment of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea, and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Korea-Serbia Cooperation Forum on Digital Government was held on February 24 in the form of a webinar.

At the invitation of the organizers, Ambassador N. Grbić addressed the participants during the opening session of the forum, alongside the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Serbia, Mr. Lee Jaewoong. In his remarks, Ambassador Grbić emphasized that cooperation between Serbia and Korea in the field of digital public administration is one of the most dynamic segments of the overall bilateral relations, as evidenced by numerous projects carried out in recent years—such as the establishment of the SKIP Center in Belgrade, the Serbian-Korean IT Center within the Office for IT and eGovernment, digitization initiatives within the Business Registers Agency (APR), the Municipality of Surdulica, and others—as well as projects that are currently in planning. He underlined that public administration reform and the continuous modernization of services provided to citizens are among the key priorities of the Government of Serbia, and that Korea’s vast experience and expertise in areas such as e-government, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity can greatly benefit Serbia through technology and know-how transfer.

Participants in the webinar, which was divided into two sessions, included representatives of Serbian and Korean government institutions involved in the implementation of ongoing public administration digitization projects, as well as private companies contracted to carry out those initiatives.
