Potential for Cooperation between Serbia and Korea in the Field of Artificial Intelligence

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Korea, Nemanja Grbić, met with Kim Man-gi, President of the Seoul AI Foundation, to explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. During the meeting, the work of the Foundation and its key projects in applying AI in the public sector were presented, along with its international cooperation with prestigious institutions around the world.

President Kim expressed particular interest in establishing cooperation with Serbian institutions, especially with the Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia in Novi Sad, in areas such as the application of AI in urban management and AI ethics.

During the meeting, the “Smart Life Week” conference, scheduled for September 2025 in Seoul, was also announced, along with an invitation for mayors of Serbian cities to participate.

Ambassador Grbić emphasized that Serbia is steadily becoming a leader in the field of AI in its region, with a well-developed national strategy, strong government support, and robust technological infrastructure. He highlighted the great potential for cooperation with Korea in this domain.

It was proposed to establish direct contact between relevant institutions of the two countries, with the support of the Embassy, in order to define concrete initiatives and joint projects.
