Invitation to Serbian Schools to Participate in the International Joint Program with Schools from Seoul

19. Jan 2026.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (SMOE) has contacted the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia regarding an invitation for Serbian schools to participate in the International Joint Class (IJC) program for the 2026/2027 school year.

The IJC program, implemented by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, represents a unique platform that connects schools from Seoul with educational institutions around the world through online and offline collaboration, enabling joint teaching activities, cultural exchange, and discussions on issues of global significance. In the 2025 school year, the program achieved exceptional results involving 358 schools from 33 countries worldwide, with a focus on exchanging experiences, mutual learning about participants' cultures, and developing international understanding among young people.

Ms. Dae-un Yang, Education Officer in the International Cooperation Department of the Office, extended an invitation to the Embassy to promote the opportunity for Serbian schools to participate in this program, expressing gratitude for the cooperation thus far and highlighting interest in including educational institutions from Serbia. The program offers two forms of collaboration: online exchange and joint classes through a dedicated platform, as well as in-person visits by Korean schools to schools in Serbia and vice versa, thereby creating an opportunity for direct cultural exchange and deepening educational ties between the two countries.

Schools interested in participating can apply through the program's official website (https://ijclass.sen.go.kr/Application) until early March 2026, with additional information available through an online brochure (https://leaflet-ijclass.co.kr/), an operational manual with case studies (https://service.sen.go.kr/resources/ebook/2023operationalCase/#page=1), and a video manual in English (https://youtu.be/jkePnYYFopI).

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia recommends that elementary and secondary schools in Serbia consider participating in this program, believing that it would contribute to strengthening educational ties between the two countries, exchanging experiences, and introducing young people to the cultures of Serbia and the Republic of Korea. For all additional information, the contact person is Ms. Dae-un Yang, Education Officer in the International Cooperation Department, who is available through the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
